Can you use the same contact for both a supplier and a customer?

In Xero, a “Contact” can be designated as both a supplier and a customer.

If the contact name matches, Tidy will map that record correctly for both roles.

Where the Tidy customer and supplier names differ, you can manually re-map them:

  • Go to the edit page of the relevant Tidy customer.
  • On the left-hand side, find the Xero Contact field.
  • From the dropdown, select the supplier name you wish to link to this customer.

This ensures both supplier and customer transactions are associated with the same Xero contact.
