FAQs

Can I bulk update supplier prices in TidyEnterprise?

Yes, you can bulk update supplier prices in TidyEnterprise using the Catalogue Pricing feature. When you create a purchase order for a managed item, the price you pay to the supplier may differ from the item’s current unit cost. Catalogue Pricing allows you to record and apply the supplier’s current price at the time of purchase, and also lets you specify the currency if you're purchasing in foreign currencies.

If your suppliers provide updated pricing in bulk (e.g. via a new price list), you can quickly update those prices in TidyEnterprise by exporting your materials, making changes in Excel, and re-importing them.

Before you begin, make sure:

  • Each item is linked to the correct supplier
  • The Supplier Product Code is filled in (we recommend using the Reference field)
  • Catalogue Pricing is enabled on your account (if unsure, contact support)
  • No inventory transactions (e.g. stock movements) occur between export and import — this helps maintain consistency

After the above is confirmed, you can proceed to bulk update as it follows:

  • Export materials and update prices:
  • Use the Materials Export function and filter the list by Supplier.
  • In Excel, update the Catalogue Prices using your supplier’s latest pricing. You can also edit the currency if needed.
  • Re-import the updated data:
  • Save the file as a .csv and re-import it into TidyStock using the Bulk Import tool.

This process allows you to efficiently maintain supplier pricing in bulk, ensuring accuracy when generating purchase orders.
